In the Hartwood

The Scottish International Storytelling Festival comes to Shotts.

Join storytellers Jane Mather and Heather Yule on a journey in tribute to those interred in paupers graves at the now derelict Hartwood Hospital, and the friends who tend the cemetery and make it a tranquil oasis.  Let stories and harp music guide you into the faerie realm where dreams are powerful and nature spirits abound.

The Scottish International Storytelling Festival (SISF) is the world’s largest celebration of storytelling. This year it will mark the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights with a programme packed with stories, conversations, dance, talks and live music celebrating our ‘Right To Be Human’.

We are suggesting the event will be suitable for adults, and children aged 10 or over.

The first peformance was at
the Storytelling Centre on Monday 23  October.
